This course is relevant for all ACCS trainees beginning an ICU post in either August 2015 or January 2016. If this applies to you then secure a place by email: bookings@bmsc.co.uk or call the SimCentre on +44 (0)117 3420108.

This is a one-day course for junior doctors due to start work on ICU which includes:

  • How to cope with likely or life threatening scenarios until senior help arrives e.g. tracheostomy emergencies;
  • The basics of how to use a ventilator;
  • Central line insertion using ultrasound;
  • The basics of inotropes and vasopressors; and
  • Likely scenario simulation.

Emphasis on safety. 
Material has allowed junior doctors to save lives on ICUs in the region.
Evidenced based approach to content.
Pre-course online material means no lectures- hands on approach to experience and learning directed at the level of the junior doctor.
Excellent feedback from previous delegates.

Cost: Free for Severn School of ACCS trainees or £130 for others including ongoing access to online material and lunch. This course if fully funded by the ACCS School so ACCS trainees are not liable for any fees.
